Description
"Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge in Vermont" by Catherine Sherman.
We reached the Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge in the late afternoon. The sun illuminated the bright Autumn foliage surrounding this one-lane bridge still in use. The Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge, also called Chamberlin Covered Bridge or Whitcomb Covered Bridge, is a covered bridge that crosses the South Wheelock Branch of the Passumpsic River in Lyndon, Vermont.
The Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1881 and named for a nearby grist mill. The bridge is 69 feet (21.0 m) long and 16 feet 6 inches (5.03 m) wide.
The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
