The early morning sun illuminates Sentinel Rock, while low-lying fog shrouds the valley around Lake Willoughby. The bright colors of Autumn bring their own brilliance to the scene. Sentinel Rock, a glacial granite boulder, sits in a park in the Green Mountains of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, at sunset. The park overlooks Lake Willoughby and the town of Westmore.
A sign at the park tells the story of the family that donated the land for the park to the state of Vermont.
