Description
"Chamberlin Mill Cascade" by Catherine Sherman.
A cascade on the South Wheelock Branch of the Passumpsic River runs under a covered bridge in Lyndon, Vermont. Trees in Autumn foliage hang over the water. The Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge, also called Chamberlin Covered Bridge or Whitcomb Covered Bridge, is a one-lane bridge still in use.
The Chamberlin Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1881 and named for a nearby grist mill. The bridge is 69 feet (21.0 m) long and 16 feet 6 inches (5.03 m) wide.
The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
