Description
"Chapter One" by Catherine Sherman.
A blank sheet of paper can be inspiring or intimidating. Where to begin? What to say in the first paragraph?
A glass of refreshment in a Waterford glass beckons, while a Panama hat awaits a break from work on this vintage manual Underwood typewriter.

Who could have used this classic typewriter? Maybe Ernest Hemingway or F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Carl Purcell
Was that Hemingway's typewriter?
Catherine Sherman replied:
Carl, I'm sure it was, ;) ! Hemingway lived in my town years ago, where he worked on the local newspaper, the Kansas City Star. Maybe he misplaced his typewriter. I think I could sell that story...

Ahhh, beautiful presentation of the Underwood. I have one just like this one. It was my grandmother's, and it still works, complete with red or black ink. Love all the details in this picture. A blank piece of paper all ready. A glass of Jack.....write drunk, edit sober. : ) A fave!
