Description
"Cirrocumulus Clouds at Fort Myers Beach Sunset" by Catherine Sherman.
People walk along Fort Myers Beach, Florida, at sunset. Overhead is a blanket of cirrocumulus clouds. Fort Myers Beach is on the Gulf of Mexico.
Cirrocumulus (Cc) is a composite of the Latin cirrus, which means wisp or curl, and cumulus, which means small heap. Cirrocumulus is a member of the ten fundamental cloud types (or cloud genera). Cirrocumuli are high-level clouds appearing as a formation of small masses of white or pale blue, fleecy clouds in a globular, wavelike, rippled pattern, usually in regularly arranged groupings.
