Description
"Flags, Logan Pass, Clements Mountain, Glacier National Park, Montana" by Catherine Sherman.
Flags of the United States of America and Canada fly at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana in honor of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. Hikers can be seen on the Hidden Lake Trail.
The two parks in the union are Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada and the Glacier National Park in the United States. Both parks are declared Biosphere Reserves by UNESCO and their union as a World Heritage Site.
The union of the parks was achieved through the efforts of Rotary International members from Alberta and Montana, on June 18, 1932. The two parks are administered separately and have separate entrance fees.
Towering beyond is Clements Mountain (8,765 feet (2,672 meters)) is located in the Lewis Range, Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. Clements Mountain rises to the west of Logan Pass and above the Hidden Lake Trail which leads to Hidden Lake just west of the continental divide.
