The sculpture of renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865 to 1957) is part of the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, Finland, created in his honor. The monument, located at the Sibelius Park in the district of Toolo, is a popular tourist stop.
The main monument is a sculpture by Finnish artist Eila Hiltunen titled Passio Musicae, The modern piece sparked a debate about the merits and flaws of abstract art, so this figurative sculpture of Sibelius was included in the work.
The Sibelius Monument was unveiled on September 7, 1967. President Urho Kekkonen was present, with Finland's political, cultural and business elite.
The face of Jean Sibelius as he looked circa 1910 was cast in stainless steel. Featured in "Images That Excite You" group (09/29/2017); "Philanthropic Artists for a Cause" group (11/14/2017); "The Niche" group (12/09/2017)
