Description
"Los Tuneles, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador" by Catherine Sherman.
A Blue-footed Booby perches on the lava formations of Los Tuneles (The Tunnels) south of Isabela Island in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador.
If you look closely you can see the tiny Sally Lightfoot Crab on the rocks.
The marine sanctuary of Los Tuneles features numerous tunnels, arches and lava tubes. Manta rays, sea horses, sharks and turtles live underwater, while blue-footed boobies and penguins live on the rocks above. Prickly pear cactus grow on the lichen-covered rocks.
Los Tuneles is a 45- to 60-minute boat ride from Puerto Villamil on the island of Isabela in the Galapagos Islands of the Ecuador, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I like this photo...it's very different and has a deserted "feel". I can't find the crab, however....hahaha l/f
Catherine Sherman replied:
Thank you very much, Lynn! This area did have a desolate feel, but there were lots of birds to add life. One of the crabs is a yard or so below the blue-footed booby. It's red.
