Description
"Marceline, Missouri, Main Street USA" by Catherine Sherman.
A clock stands on the corner of Kansas Avenue in the historic town of Marceline, Missouri. Striped awnings, a flag and an antique light pole in front of the old First National Bank building add to the Americana charm.
While as a boy Walt Disney lived with his family in Marceline, Missouri, for only four years, the town inspired him. The town provided inspiration for the film Lady and the Tramp.
Marceline is also known as one of the towns along with Fort Collins, Colorado, that inspired the design of Main Street, U.S.A. inside the main entrance of the many 'Disneyland'-style parks run by The Walt Disney Company around the world.
