The rose parade is held every year on the third Saturday of October as part of the Texas Rose Festival in Tyler. The festival is a three-day event celebrating the role of the rose-growing industry in the local economy and attracts tens of thousands of visitors.
Six Wienermobiles travel the country. The first Wienermobile was created by Carl Mayer, Oscar Mayer's nephew, in 1936.
I saw my first Wienermobile circling the state capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin, which was the headquarters of Oscar Mayer at the time. Perhaps it was a new driver learning how to maneuver the 27-foot-long dog on a bun.
On November 4, 2015, parent owner Kraft Heinz announced it would move the Oscar Mayer headquarters and the company's U.S. meats business...
