"Beehives at Sunrise" by Catherine Sherman.
The morning sun casts a golden glow over a Kansas soybean field near Lawrence. A layer of mist floats over the field, soon to be dispelled as the day unfolds.
Inside six hives, honeybees are warming up for their busy day ahead. The bees will emerge from these apiaries to seek nectar from a field of giant sunflowers in bloom nearby.
