"Rainbow Colors in Charleston" by Catherine Sherman.
Brightly colored houses line East Bay Street in Charleston, South Carolina. These houses are just as colorful as their neighbors to the north, the thirteen historic houses that make up Rainbow Row. Built in the 18th century, the Rainbow Row houses represent the longest cluster of Georgian row houses in the United States.
The name Rainbow Row was coined after the pastel colors they were painted as they were restored in the 1930s and 1940s. It is a common tourist attraction and is one of the most photographed parts of Charleston.
