Description
"Warthogs at the Victoria Falls Hotel" by Catherine Sherman.
Warthogs graze on the large lush lawn of the historic Victoria Falls Hotel near the massive Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Africa.
Warthogs (Phacochoerus africanus) are a genus of wild pig found in sub-Sahara Africa.
The hotel is dramatically situated, with a view of the Second Gorge and the Victoria Falls Bridge from its terrace. The hotel was opened in 1904 to accommodate passengers on the newly built railway, part of the planned Cape to Cairo Railway. Victoria Falls produces the world's largest sheet of falling water and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
